British Airways Interline Agreements

Yay me! An interline agreement between interCaribbean and British Airways is launched today, providing a new convenient option for customers travelling in the Caribbean. Travellers from Europe can now plan their business or holiday trip through British Airways and their designated agents and issue a single ticket purchase for their trip, combining their British Airways and interCaribbean Airways flights. If an interline agreement is in effect for passengers, it is possible to book tickets and check luggage continuously. This does not mean that it will be easy to book the passage tickets. If the two airlines concerned want the agreement to apply only in an emergency, they set the reservation system so that instead of adding up the lowest fares available to deduct the transit fare, they use the full fares. As suggested in the USBT article above, you can do this yourself by searching for flights on EF or KVS that, in turn, are looking directly for a GDS, or by using the website of an online travel agency like Expedia. If the combination of BA and the other airline appears on a single route, there is an interline agreement to that effect. Last year, I flew with BA Avios from London to Amsterdam to connect in Sydney with an AA award ticket on MH Metal. The BA agent literally laughed at me when she asked if she could pack my bag at Malaysia Airlines. The supervisor did not help. I almost missed the flight.C`s nice. «InterCaribbean Airways` new interline ticketing agreement with British Airways expands travel opportunities for travellers arriving in the Caribbean, whether it`s a two- or three-island trip, travellers can choose their choice…
