BMW simplifies the XM's mechanical offering and introduces minor new features

Maybe it's because of its high price, its extravagance or because no matter how you look at it it's nonsense but the BMW-XM was the least-selling model of the German brand, all this despite being the first electrified vehicle developed entirely by BMW M and being a sports SUV that in its most extreme version is called Label It is capable of putting many theoretically superior sports cars to shame.

The future of the BMW XM therefore does not look very promising in light of the sales figures, but BMW wants to give it one last chance and to do so they are introducing a series of new features that basically affect its customization and mechanical offering, the latter being perhaps the most surprising, as the XM is left with two very different engines.

If we start with the customization options, the BMW XM now has the new color available Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic finish from BMW Individual and a color that can be highlighted with a high-gloss Black line. A new animation light is also added, and for Europe, it is now included as standard for the European market. 22 inch alloy wheels in double spoke design style 922 M Bicolor and that replace the 21-inch ones, leaving the 23-inch M light alloy wheels style 1096 M in black as the new option.

If we go inside now, we can choose as an option Merino leather in Night Blue BMW Individual if we want an extravagant interior. In the XM Label variant, it adds new color combination options, such as Merino leather in black in combination with surfaces and inserts in Vintage Coffee Brown or if we prefer the same leather in color Silverstone in combination with black. Note that comfort cushions will now be available for all versions.

As for the mechanical part, BMW eliminates the 653 hp engine that used the 8 cc TwinPower Turbo V4.400 engine. Therefore, now the entry-level option for the BMW XM continues to be the version XM 50e which combines the 313 hp in-line six-cylinder engine with the 197 hp electric motor, resulting in a combined power output of the M Hybrid system of 476 CVIf we want to use the electrified V8 engine we have to go for the most powerful version, the XM Label, with a power of 587 HP corresponding to the V8 engine and which together with the 197 HP electric motor results in a combined power of 748 CV and a large torque of 1.000 Nm. Note that the BMW XM Label now supports AC charging. up to 11 kW.

The renewed BMW XM is now available in Spain with a price starting at 134.100 Euros for the XM 50e, while the XM Label does so from the 189.350 Euros.
