Shortly after learning all the details of the 650S Le Mans, the British manufacturer reveals that the P1 GTR will not be alone at the Swiss show. It will be accompanied by a more powerful and track-oriented variant of the mid-range sports car. Its characteristics and position in the range correspond to the P15 project.
It hasn't even been a week since McLaren announced all the details of the 650S Le Mans, but the British sports car already has another version waiting to join its range. The Woking brand has confirmed to the magazine Coach that the P1 GTR It will not represent its only novelty in the next Geneva Motor Show, but will also showcase a new variant of the 650S that is equally linked to McLaren's racing history.

The prototypes of this version allow us to appreciate that its exterior design will differ from the 650S by the front bumper, the news air intakes of the side skirts and a elongated rear that evokes the F1 GTR «Long Tail» from 1997 who participated in the 24 Le Mans hours.
The data that it handles Coach They speak of an increase in power of about 25 hp, as well as a weight reduction of 100 kg compared to the 650S. In addition, it is expected that some of its components will be borrowed from the 650S GT3 that McLaren took to Goodwood last year. McLaren has not confirmed his name, but Coach He says that one of the options being considered is 675 LT (Long Tail).
In any case, this model will occupy a space in the range between the 650S and the P1, so it would be the P15 project which we discussed here exactly a year ago. Coach adds that its production will be limited to 250 units and in 2014 a price was mentioned that was easily around half a million euros.
If McLaren maintains its plan to present it in Geneva, the brand will be quite busy this spring, as a month later it will be its turn in The New York Salon al P13, whose commercial name, for now, is Sports Series.
