McLaren F1 LM-Specifications up for auction

If there is one truly rare vehicle within McLaren it is the F1 LM-Specifications, the version of the legendary sports car with Le Mans specifications that the Woking-based firm built based on two of the five F1 LM models produced. Its auction price has not yet been estimated.
RM Sotheby's will auction off a series of unique jewels on June 13, 14 and 15 at an event held in California, United States. Among the toys that the auction house will be offering are the first Bugatti Veyron manufactured, a Ferrari 288 GTO or a Ferrari F40 LM, among others. But if there is one that is truly practically unique and of stratospheric value, it is the McLaren F1 LM-Specifications to be auctioned.
Let's start at the beginning. The McLaren F1 It is a single-seater sports car that the Woking firm launched in the early 90s and that immediately became the fastest vehicle in the world, a title that it held for several years and that, fortunately, it still holds today but specifically in that it is the fastest naturally aspirated car in the world. With this base, McLaren was clear from the beginning about its participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans was mandatory. In 1995, the legendary race witnessed the Five McLaren F1 GTRs crossing the finish linea (in first, third, fourth, fifth and thirteenth position).
This year marks the 20th anniversary of that historic victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and McLaren has already unveiled the 650S LM to commemorate the anniversary. But before reaching the present, the British manufacturer brought to life five special units of the F1 GTR, called F1 LM, all of them based on the conventional model and had a series of modifications that affected the engine, aerodynamics, gearbox and weight, although they were not approved for use on the street.
Giving it a further note of exclusivity and feeding its legend, McLaren took two already manufactured units of the original McLaren F1 and modified them to create the F1 LM-Specifications that you can see in the pictures. The improvements installed were the same as in the competition versions, including the 12-litre V6,1 engine from BMW, boosted to 691 hp and the 'High Downforce' aerodynamic package.
After telling you about its history and origin, you should know that one of these units will be auctioned in August and, although its price has not been estimated yet, it is expected to be very high. Exclusivity has a price, and it is paid dearly.
