Best-selling cars in November 2018
We review the list of best-selling cars in 2018, after the drop suffered last month due to various factors.
Car sales in our country have suffered a decline in November. Last month a total of 91,063 units were registered, 12.6% less than in the same period of 2017. This decline is due to three factors: a correction following the rush of purchases during the summer months (a result of the new WLTP emissions regulations coming into force in September), a glitch in the DGT registration systems during the final days of the month, and the uncertainty facing the market over how the economy in our country may develop in the coming months. In any case, the list of best-selling cars so far this 2018 continues to accumulate more sales. This is the situation after eleven months of 2018:
Best-selling cars in November
- Seat Leon: 2,598 units
- Dacia Sandero: 2,366 units
- Renault Clio: 2,335 units
- Peugeot 3008: 2,052 units
- Nissan Qashqai: 2,012 units
- Volkswagen Polo: 1,966 units
- Seat Arona: 1,889 units
- Seat Ibiza: 1,802 units
- Seat Ateca: 1,765 units
- Volkswagen Golf: 1,742 units
Best-selling cars in 2018 (January-November)
- Seat Leon: 32,534 units
- Seat Ibiza: 29,461 units
- Dacia Sandero: 28,640 units
- Nissan Qashqai: 28,603 units
- Renault Megane: 26,989 units
- Renault Clio: 26,320 units
- Volkswagen Polo: 25,505 units
- Volkswagen Golf: 24,901 units
- Citroën C4: 24,627 units
- Fiat 500: 22,024 units

As we can see, things have not changed much at the top of the table. The Seat Leon maintains its position as the best-selling car on the Spanish market, ahead of rivals such as the Renault Megane (5th in the ranking) or the Volkswagen Golf (8th place). The Spanish compact is available from 16,430 euros with a 1.0 TSI 115 CV petrol engine, a very solid option if you are considering buying a segment C vehicle.

The position of the new Seat Ibiza is also noteworthy, as it stands as the best-selling supermini in our country. The new generation of the Spanish supermini has been built on the successful VAG Group MQB A0 platform, and the result is outstanding. The new Seat Ibiza stands out for dimensions increasingly close to those of its bigger brother (Seat Leon), a chassis typical of higher segments, excellent build quality and cutting-edge technology. The new Ibiza is a safe bet, and is available from 12,540 euros with a 1.0 TSI 95 CV engine. You can also opt for the TGi version with a compressed natural gas engine, a very efficient variant with excellent running costs.
For its part, the Nissan Qashqai maintains its leadership in the SUV segment, although it drops to third place in favour of the Dacia Sandero, which joins the podium after two months of strong sales figures in the commercial arena.

We recall that the new Nissan Qashqai offers ride comfort and insulation superior to its predecessor. The Japanese SUV continues to win people over with its design, but is now a more refined car than before. The new Qashqai is available from 22,000 euros with a 115 CV DIG-T petrol engine, a powertrain with a good balance between performance and consumption, as we revealed in our road test of the Nissan Juke.
