Converting a BMW M3 into a pickup truck
Several years ago, BMW unveiled a very peculiar concept vehicle that left us all speechless. It was a striking and unique BMW M3, from the E92 generation. It was a BMW creation, created to celebrate April Fools' Day .
The main feature of that model shown in 2011 was its body style. Instead of the traditional two-door sedan with an elongated trunk, it had been transformed into a pickup truck . The second row of seats was eliminated, and the body was completely modified to give it the appearance of a truck with a very short roof and considerable cargo space.
It seems that the prototype the Bavarian brand ironically displayed gave the owner of the car we're featuring in this post the idea. Imitating that concept and commissioned by a private client, the South African workshop Mad Dog Racing rolled up their sleeves and modified an E92 generation BMW M3, transforming it into a pickup truck.

It can't be easy to significantly alter a car's structural shape while maintaining its rigidity . Those responsible for transforming this sports coupe into a "truck" must have implemented substantial reinforcements. In any case, the overall result is visually impressive, with the B-pillar having gained a considerable amount of extra length precisely for this purpose.
The E92 generation BMW M3 used a naturally aspirated 4-liter V8 engine , producing 420 horsepower as standard , which was sent to the rear axle. As if that weren't enough, the tuning shop behind this sporty pickup truck decided that 420 horsepower might be a bit underpowered and opted to add a turbocharger . We don't know the final power output after the turbocharger was installed, but it will surely exceed 500 horsepower without much trouble.
Maybe not many people would buy a BMW M3 pick-up; it's not a car that makes much sense. But we can't deny that we would love to take it for a spin on any asphalt track.
