The autonomous truck from Volvo, Vera, shows how it works
The transport sector is not left behind when it comes to modernisation. Clear proof of this is the autonomous truck from Volvo, called Vera. Its avant-garde design and incredible capabilities give us a glimpse of the future.
If we try to picture a truck in our minds, surely the classic design comes to mind: huge, with a two-seat cab, tall and sturdy. However, far from reality, if we take a look at the new autonomous truck from Volvo, named Vera, we realise that little by little, the future looks more like the sci-fi films we grew up with.

This prototype, with avant-garde and, at the very least, sporty and eye-catching shapes, is the Swedish manufacturer’s bid to become a means of autonomous transport in the transport sector.
Directly recalling models seen in films such as “Minority Report” or “Blade Runner”, among others, the Vera model presents itself as a fully autonomous vehicle, with no doors or access points for manual control, equipped with processors, advanced technology and electric power, designed to carry out its journeys without direct human intervention.

A vehicle without a cab seems somewhat premature in these times, yet seeing it gradually become a reality makes us truly wonder how fast the industry is advancing…
To demonstrate how it works, Volvo has released a video showing the Vera model transporting containers in a port in Gothenburg, Sweden.
For now, due to the exhaustive testing carried out day after day, as well as a power output that is not yet sufficiently developed, the Swedish autonomous vehicles only reach a top speed of 40 kilometres per hour.

The specifications regarding its batteries, power, torque engine, etc., have not yet been revealed, although knowing it travels at the speed mentioned above, it is not difficult to get an idea.
Below, we leave you the video that the brand itself has provided to the media to show how this curious and technological goods truck works:
