A confident SUV driver believes that all-wheel drive is everything
It is true that all-wheel drive is a very important factor that helps on difficult terrain and in adverse conditions. However, recklessness and overconfidence can become your worst enemy…
Losing traction on a wet surface is a nightmare for any driver. Deliberately causing that same situation is even worse. The driver featured in the video we are presenting today is guilty of this and ends up having an accident.
We don’t know why, but for some reason, some people think that having a car with all-wheel drive is a safety net on any type of terrain, in any situation or at any speed.

In fact, if a 4×4 vehicle loses traction, all four of its wheels will lose it at the same time, and it is literally impossible for the driver to do anything about it to save such a situation, especially if we take into account that the surface is wet.
The star of our video is a white Jeep Cherokee, which suddenly goes from driving in a straight line to crossing all the lanes and ending up crashing into a traffic light:

Although this type of accident usually has a clear, reasonable explanation behind it, the story of this one in particular is, to say the least, curious. According to the driver involved, there were two more cars right behind him that seemed unhappy because he was respecting the speed limits, and they wanted to overtake him at any cost.
He therefore blames the nerves caused by the other drivers for his accident. Curiously, his story does not seem to match the video, where there does not appear to be any dangerous situation.
We think the real reason for the accident is a clear case of reckless overtaking on a wet surface. The Jeep risked overtaking at the last moment when he noticed the traffic light was red, which created a dangerous situation that prompted braking, which caused the vehicle to lose traction and prevented him from controlling it in such conditions.
Doing this on dry asphalt is also reckless, but anyone with experience knows the dangers of driving on wet roads, especially when you are going fast.
