First contact with the Dacia Sandero Hybrid 155: power and efficiency from €19,890
The new version of the Dacia Sandero introduces a system that combines 155 CV of power, an automatic gearbox and the ability to drive much of the time in electric mode, while keeping one of the model’s main selling points: its low price, as it is available from €19,890.
The arrival of this powertrain marks an important change in the Sandero’s positioning. Until now, much of its offer had relied on petrol engines and, especially, LPG. With the Hybrid 155, Dacia now brings full hybridisation to the B-segment with a formula that is very competitive on cost.

Made in Spain
The new hybrid system, developed and manufactured in Valladolid by Horse Powertrain, combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine with two electric motors of 36 kW and 15 kW respectively, delivering a combined output of 155 CV. This powertrain is also paired with an automatic gearbox, so there is no manual alternative in this version.
The Sandero Hybrid 155 always starts in electric mode and, thanks to regenerative braking, can run up to 80% of the time in town without using the combustion engine. This is a relevant feature for a predominantly urban model, bringing some of the smoothness and quietness of an electric vehicle to the Sandero without the need to plug it in.
Running costs
This energy management has a direct effect on consumption, as Dacia homologates a combined figure of 4.2 l/100 km, along with CO₂ emissions of 96 g/km. It is also the first model in the Sandero range to fall below the 100 g/km threshold.
The Sandero Hybrid 155 starts at €19,890, while the top trim reaches €20,890. According to the brand, this makes it the most affordable B-segment hybrid on the market. The Sandero Stepway with the same powertrain starts at €21,290.

Impressive performance
The performance jump is also significant within the range. Compared with the 100 CV TCe and the 120 CV ECO-G variants, the 155 CV of the new hybrid make this version the most powerful option in the Sandero line-up. Electrification is not seen merely as a tool to reduce consumption and emissions, but also as an evolution in performance and driving enjoyment.
Another relevant aspect is that this new powertrain has a strong Spanish industrial component. The Hybrid 155 system has been developed and is manufactured in Valladolid by Horse Powertrain, and represents one of Dacia’s key steps in its strategy to extend electrification to virtually its entire combustion range. The brand thus introduces full hybrid technology into its highest-volume model without altering one of the principles that have historically defined the Sandero: a particularly tight balance between price, performance and running costs.

The mechanical hierarchy within the range also changes notably. The 155 CV of the new hybrid place it clearly above the 100 CV TCe and the 120 CV ECO-G versions, making it the most powerful Sandero available. The leap is therefore not only about reducing consumption and emissions, but also about offering superior performance and the added comfort of an automatic transmission.
Dacia thus presents the Sandero Hybrid 155 as the most affordable B-segment hybrid on the market, a particularly significant position for a model that closed the first half of 2026 as the best-selling passenger car in Spain, with 18,540 units sold.
Good handling
Behind the wheel of the Sandero Hybrid, the increase in power achieved with the addition of the electric motors and the 1.4 kWh battery is clearly noticeable. It is true that its operation in electric mode is particularly satisfying, as no vibrations are transmitted in this situation, the noise perceived inside is minimal, only that produced by the tyres rolling, and the smoothness of operation is remarkable.
On open roads, if speed and battery charge conditions are favourable, a pleasant and quiet drive is also achieved until the combustion engine starts. It is not especially noisy, but it does contrast with the smoothness of the electric motor.

If more power is demanded, the petrol engine stretches its rev range with ease (a slight lull is felt when shifting into second gear), but it brings a noticeable change in the way performance is delivered, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h.
As for the chassis, the brakes, steering and suspension digest the brilliant figures the package delivers with ease, making it a model suited to all kinds of driving: urban, extra-urban or on long motorway journeys, since fuel consumption figures, beyond the homologated ones, will not significantly exceed 5 litres per 100 km, although a certain firmness is maintained on the accelerator pedal.

Si no, sale otro.
