I don’t know… looking at this, it gives me the idea of a chest of drawers with wheels. But this is one of the abominations that can be bought on eBay, a destination on the Internet for those who want to see truly strange things. It won’t be like the Splinter; after all, it isn’t a sports car, but it shares the same characteristic as that one. It is made entirely of wood.

The body is built from cedar wood, with a V8 engine. Its builder seems to be a furniture maker and a great car enthusiast, so what better way to combine his passion and his work than this?

The V8 engine is a 318 of Chrysler (5.2 litres), an engine I imagine never dreamed of being placed inside a piece of furniture, not even in its darkest thoughts. The wooden frame was mounted on a pick-up chassis Toyota, while an automatic gearbox was added to the engine.

The wooden car appears to have been used quite a lot, since its odometer shows almost 3,000 kilometres covered. Unless it’s at exhibitions and unusual parades, I don’t see how this car could be driven on the road. But for anyone who wants one, it can be bought on eBay for $4,450. Expensive for a piece of furniture, but cheap for a car.
