Alfa Romeo Montreal Inspires the Design of a Futuristic Crossover
It seems that retro cars are more fashionable than ever these days. So much so that designer Dongman Joo has used the 1070 Alfa Romeo Montreal as inspiration to create a concept of a crossover straight from the future.
Retro-styled cars hold a significant niche in the market. Nowadays, things that recall the past, “vintage” items, are more fashionable than ever. Whether out of nostalgia or the contagious effect of the masses, the truth is that the old is in vogue.
Of course, this is no exception in the world of motoring, where recently Honda delighted us all with the confirmation of the production of a small, beautiful Urban EV, whose lines reference the manufacturer’s own past models.

Dongman Joo, based on the look of the Alfa Romeo Montreal from 1970 (one of the most famous cars from the Italian manufacturer), has generated a render of a futuristic Alfa Romeo crossover coupé, which he has named AllRoader Freccia.
At the front, like any good Alfa Romeo worth its salt, it features a triangular radiator. It has no other intake to promote ventilation at the front, which results in a clean, minimalist design.

The model’s headlights are by no means the traditional ones we’re used to; they have instead been transformed into thin lines that meet at the radiator and occupy most of the front end.
The side profile of the model is also intriguing, especially regarding the wheels, which incorporate a genuinely peculiar design that we had not seen before.

At first glance it does not appear to have exterior windows, although it does have slits that seem to indicate the end of the door.
From above, the model looks like a true spaceship, and the roof could be fitted with solar panels to recharge, of course, the electric motor it would contain.

The rear is perhaps the least striking part of the model, coming a little closer to today’s standard, yet adding those futuristic touches we love so much.
This concept represents a crossover from the Italian manufacturer that could arrive around the year 2030. We believe that within 12 years this design could come very close to reality; in the meantime, however, we’ll keep its images to enjoy the concept.
