Being a millionaire and having a private track at home
A private track nestled in the heart of Australia envies nothing from any racing circuit around the world. Built by millionaire executive Dean Wills, the track measures 5.1 kilometres in length with 22 corners, a garage and auxiliary facilities.

The next thing that would follow the desire to be a millionaire (which I imagine most of you would like to be) would be the fact of having a race track inside the house. That is, here we will not be content merely with having enough money to buy a sports car for every day of the week, but we will ask for more: a stretch of asphalt where speed limits don’t matter, since we will be masters and lords.
The example has been applied to the letter by Australian Dean Wills, a retired executive who worked at Coca-Cola, who has built a fairly intricate track that would not envy any other Formula 1 track, with 22 corners and its own leisure and service facilities, in the heart of Australia.
The story began in 1996, when the Sydney police revoked Wills’ driving licence for life for racing his Ferrari F512 on a country road. Looking at his collection of sports cars, this millionaire’s worst nightmare came true: being unable to drive any of his cars.

After a year of construction and some 10 million dollars invested in the land and in building the track, Dean Wills’ private track came to life. At just over 5 kilometres in length, it has all kinds of corners and a couple of straights, and it also connects with the course of a go-kart track dedicated to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The track is used under its owner’s rules: no one may race against another car, and times are not even recorded; it is only about having fun, driving in one direction or the other, without even protective barriers, in what looks like a typical country road.
Among the track’s guests are people who are invariably regular members of the jet set: those who can bring their Lamborghini or Ferrari for a few laps around the track and who have earned Wills’ friendship. Among the visitors, mention is made of Jack Brabham, former Formula 1 driver, and Wayne Gardner, former motorcycle world champion.
