Bentley Continental GT Convertible Nº 1 Edition by Mulliner: a tribute to a legend

In the year of its centenary, Bentley pays tribute to the legendary 1929 Blower No.1 with an exclusive limited series of 100 units of the Continental GT Convertible by Mulliner, called the Nº 1 Edition.

A modern reinterpretation of the legendary Bentley Blower No.1 from 1929? Whatever the excuse, there is also the brand’s centenary, which is celebrated on July 10.

The fact is that Bentley have pulled this exclusive edition, limited to 100 units of the Continental GT Convertible, out of their sleeve. It is called the Nº 1 Edition, and it bears the stamp of the specialists at Mulliner.

W12 twin-turbo engine and exclusive details

The starting point is the Bentley Continental GT Convertible, one of the most luxurious convertibles in the world. Under the bonnet, an engine as exclusive as the car: the 6-litre W12 TSI with twin turbochargers, in a revised version, although the final power output has not been revealed. As a curious fact, the 1929 Blower also had a supercharged engine.

Among other subtle touches, the Continental GT Convertible Number 1 Edition by Mulliner features an 18-carat gold-plated badge on the wings, and a piece of history inside: for the innovative Bentley Rotating Display of each car, a cast alloy part made using original material from the pistons of the Blower No.1 engine is used. This piece imitates the wheel locking nuts of the Bentley historic models.

In addition, this exclusive Continental GT Convertible, available in Red or Beluga body colours, with a hood to choose in two matching colours, includes the Centenary package of Bentley. Carbon fibre elements and black colour inserts add an elegant yet sporty touch.

The most exclusive upholstery is not missing, nor the identification plate that greets you on the door sills, or the wood inserts that contrast with the gold-plated controls on some switches and on the gear lever. The best thing is to see it for yourself…
