Leaf Nissan Electric Cars Industry
Carlos Ghosn very cautious about the Nissan Leaf

Even though the Nissan Leaf has got off to a very good start given the number of reservations it has already received Nissan, Carlos Ghosn is still not sure it is a good idea to boost production of the electric Nissan by devoting more company resources to producing it, until they have the actual sales figures for the car in hand.
Ghosn says that it will take about two years to be sure that the Leaf deserves a stronger role in Nissan production, and that the 13,000 reservations received for the new electric car should be taken with some caution.
If in December we see that the reservations turn into sales, then it will be the time to make some decisions regarding production capacity.
And as is already becoming normal, events depend on what happens in the Chinese market, which has not yet decided to give buyers of electric cars certain advantages when purchasing them. I believe that the decision at Nissan is waiting to see what happens in China before embarking on producing the Leaf in large quantities for the rest of the world.
