Caterham Seven RoadSport 125

Caterham, a manufacturer that rarely renews its models and even less often releases limited editions within its range, has just presented a special edition called Caterham Seven RoadSport 125 Monaco Edition as a tribute to Monaco.
If we look at the mechanics of the model, perhaps the most striking element of such a lightweight car, we won’t find anything new, since the 125 Monaco Edition is based, as its name suggests, on the Seven RoadSport 1.6 with 125 horsepower.

This engine is mounted to a five-speed manual gearbox, and a transmission that sends all this power to the rear wheels, which feature 14-inch alloy wheels whose styling is very similar to that of the classic MINIs.
At this point you may be thinking that 125 horsepower isn’t much power to be surprised by, but what if I tell you the car has a total weight of 500 kg? That changes things, doesn’t it? All of this translates into an acceleration capability that allows the Caterham Seven RoadSport 125 Monaco Edition to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.

Now, where are the new features? According to the manufacturer, almost all the novelties have been introduced in the cabin, although on the exterior a vinyl wrap runs across the entire bodywork that attempts to simulate the flag of the principality.
Looking at the interior of the model, we discover new features such as the seats, door panels and several other upholstered areas in black leather combined with red stitching.

Unfortunately, Caterham has not indicated any further changes within this special edition, nor is it clearly known how many units will be produced. On the other hand, what is known is that the first 20 people who reserve their unit will be able to buy it for 24,255 euros, compared with the 25,468 euros the 21st unit onwards will cost.
