Check which phase of lockdown you are in and how you can move around on the RACE map

Checking the lockdown phase of each province and the mobility restrictions that apply is possible on the map offered by the RACE.

Since 4 May, with the start of the de-escalation of the quarantine caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the Government has launched four phases for the recovery of normality. These phases will progressively increase geographic mobility, as well as relax the restrictions.

The map with the de-escalation phases

To check which de-escalation phase each province is in, the RACE has made available to motorists a map that is constantly updated. It allows you to quickly check the phase in each province by moving the cursor over the map, with each phase identified by a colour code.

Let us remember that it is important to know not only the phase in which our region is, but also the one we wish to travel to in the future, since when travel between different provinces is permitted, both must have completed the indicated phase.

In addition, the RACE map page itself includes an explanatory table with the main rules that apply to each phase, which we summarise here as regards car travel:

Phase 0

  • The vehicle may only be used to go to work or for the travel permitted in this phase (medical appointments, bank, shopping at the supermarket, etc.)
  • Two people may travel in the same vehicle, always wearing a face mask. If both people share a home they may sit in the front seats; otherwise, the driver and passenger must sit as far apart as possible.
  • Face masks are mandatory in vehicles with a single row of seats, in which a maximum of two people may travel

Phase 1

  • Limit on the occupancy of private vehicles, with the exception of people living in the same household, who may travel together without a face mask and occupy all seats. If they do not live in the same household, a maximum of two people per row of seats, and wearing a face mask.
  • Travel within the province is permitted, including trips to second homes, but only within the same province.
  • Movement between neighbouring municipalities is permitted for carrying out socio-economic activities.
  • Face masks are mandatory in vehicles with a single row of seats, with occupancy limited to two people

Phases 2 and 3 are yet to be defined.
