Citroën celebrates its centenary with the Citroën C3 Origins version

Citroën turns 100 years old and, to celebrate it, launches the Origins series with the Citroën C3 Origins as its first commemorative model

One hundred years separate the birth and the next birthday of a brand that is a benchmark for the automotive industry. Citroen, the French manufacturer that has popularised the two chevrons around the world, wants to celebrate this anniversary with a special series. And the Citroën C3 Origins will be the first of the exclusive launches of this limited production.

Citroën is a brand that, since its beginnings, has shown an extraordinary capacity to experiment and innovate. Now, relying on the exclusivity that customising a vehicle’s finishes provides, it chooses its best-selling model worldwide, the Citroën C3, as the first celebratory showcase.

Taking as a reference the Citroën Traction Avant, an emblematic model of the brand that gave customers the option to choose what, at that time, came from the factory: the body colour and the wheel colour, it now equips its Citroën C3 Origins with a special finish and an exclusive technology package.

The exclusivity of the Citroën C3 Origins

As on other occasions, Citroën has chosen a two-tone combination to distinguish one of its special editions. Thus, the Citroën C3 Origins features a Onyx Black roof that fits perfectly with any of the body colours available: Banquise White, Artense Grey or Platinum Grey.

The set is built around the 17-inch Cross Black diamond-cut alloy wheels. The splashes of anodised bronze colour on other details such as the fog light surrounds and the characteristic Airbump trim, together with the finish of the C-pillar, create a harmony of cool colours and an elegant distinction for this finish as the Citroën C3 Origins, which is topped off with the commemorative badge that only the special edition versions “Origins since 1919” will display. At the rear, a discreet rear spoiler elegantly completes the distinctive touch.

Distinguished inside and out

In the interior of the Citroën C3 Origins, the match with the exterior finish comes from the use of Anodised Bronze colour and the Curitiba Grey decorative strip. A cabin where the note of distinction is provided by the leather steering wheel, the specific floor mats, a bronze-coloured dashboard trim and the seat upholstery, which also uses grey and bronze as its main colours. Seats designed to offer maximum comfort while enjoying the drive.

To add the extra distinction compared with the rest of the finishes, the Citroën C3 Origins comes with the connected Citroën Connect NAV navigation system, touchscreen, rear parking assistance, automatic climate control, rain sensor and automatic light activation.

The driving assistants offered on the Citroën C3 Origins are speed sign recognition and recommendation, unintentional lane departure warning, speed limiter/cruise control with speed limit recognition, hill start assist and the recommended rest indicator.

The engines of the Citroën C3 Origins

This special edition Citroën C3 Origins is available with diesel and petrol engines. The engines chosen are the BlueHDi 100 S&S for diesel, and the PureTech 82 and PureTech 110 S&S, both with manual gearbox, and the PureTech 110 S&S EAT6 with automatic gearbox, the latter especially recommended for those who enjoy effortless driving.

The price for the cheapest version of the Citroën C3 Origins is that with the PureTech 82 S&S engine at 13,090 euros. It should be mentioned that this Origins since 1919 finish will also be applied to other models such as the Citroën C1, C3, C3 Aircross, C4 Cactus saloon, C-Elysée, C4 SpaceTourer and C4 Grand SpaceTourer.
