Confirmed! The successor to the Koenigsegg Agera will debut in Geneva
The successor to the Koenigsegg Agera will receive a modified version of its 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, which could allow it to set a new top speed record.
The successor to the spectacular Koenigsegg Agera will be unveiled next March at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The Swedish hypercar manufacturer has spent several months hinting at the arrival of the new model, and now confirms that its launch is closer than we thought.
The successor to the Koenigsegg Agera will not be called “Ragnarok”

Several rumours suggested that the new Agera would receive a new name, one more fitting of a Marvel film than of the automotive industry: “Ragnarok” (the name the ancient Vikings used to refer to the apocalypse). Finally, it has been confirmed that the hypercar’s name will not be the one mentioned, so the end of days will have to wait.
Production limited to 125 units
According to the Swedish publication Dagens Industri, the name of the new Agera is still a mystery. What we do know is that only 125 units will be produced of the hypercar worldwide, of which it is claimed that at least 72 have already been sold even before it has been shown to the public.

A 1,440 CV beast
The successor to the Koenigsegg Agera will receive a modified version of the 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine fitted to the current version. According to estimates, the various changes made to this engine should allow a power increase up to 1,440 CV, some 80 CV more than the most performance-oriented version of the current model: the Agera RS equipped with the One:1 performance upgrade kit.
Since production of the Koenigsegg Regera will remain active when the Agera successor reaches the market, the Swedish manufacturer will be able to offer two models for sale. This situation could allow the Swedish manufacturer to develop a new hypercar focused even more on extreme track performance.

Will the Agera successor set a new top speed record?
Koenigsegg may also have a new goal in mind with the arrival of the Koenigsegg Agera successor: setting a new top speed record with a production car, a record that the Agera RS already broke a few years ago, reaching 447 km/h.
Since this model will be presented in Geneva, we expect to see new teaser images of this spectacular hypercar soon.
