Get ready for the new Cadillac electric car, America's bet on zero-emission driving
Cadillac is one of those brands we dream about, for its power, its design and the fame it enjoys in the United States, and now the brand is preparing its first electric car

The race among car makers to lead the way in zero-emission driving is leading even those that have always been proud of the sound and power of their engines to turn towards purely electric cars. The case of Cadillac is quite representative, because the brand under the umbrella of General Motors, a true icon of the American market, has just announced that it too will have an electric model to adapt to the new times.
The details are few and, for now, limited to two concept images from which we can extract some information. We do know, however, that this model will arrive on General Motors’ new electric vehicle platform. It will take the form of a rather elegant crossover, with the look that has been part of Cadillac’s tradition for decades.

, which will bring more light into the cabin. The closed grille reveals its electric drivetrain and next to it we find two air intakes in a triangular shape. On the sides we can see that door handles have been concealed within the bodywork.
The sloping rear pillar, solid alloy wheels and a rather interesting rear end complete everything we can see of this fully electric Cadillac model that will arrive in the coming years. It will be the first of the 11 electric cars the brand has in mind since the creation of this platform designed for electric vehicles was announced.
Among these electric cars are a luxury crossover, another similar one of smaller size and a coupé, according to what has been learned of the brand’s plans. General Motors’ platform for electrified vehicles is designed to work with front-wheel, rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, so it has many possibilities for use in other General Motors models. For now, we will have to wait a little to learn more details about Cadillac’s first electric car, which we know will not be the only one for very long.
