CUPRA Formentor Hybrid: 245 CV and CERO label for the sporty SUV
The new CUPRA Formentor will also feature a hybrid version, for which 245 CV and around 50 km of range in EV mode are announced.
A lot has been said about the CUPRA Formentor since it first appeared as a prototype almost a year ago. But now we have the production version here. And it will be on sale sooner than you expected: just after the summer.
Outside, the aggressive and dynamic bodywork of the Formentor comes as no surprise. The concept car had already practically 100% previewed its lines. We are looking at an SUV that wants to be a coupé, without giving up a cabin or boot capacity that makes it a car for everyday use.

And so it is. With a length of 4.45 metres, a width of 1.84 metres and a height of 1.51 metres, the Formentor has a wheelbase of 2.68 metres. It promises space for five passengers and a boot of 450 litres, which is not bad at all.
The CUPRA Formentor eHybrid engine
Within a mechanical range that will include combustion engines of up to 310 CV, there will also be a CUPRA Formentor with the CERO DGT environmental label.
To do this, the Formentor eHybrid will use the same plug-in hybrid drive system that SEAT and CUPRA have already announced on other models, such as the Tarraco PHEV, or the CUPRA León eHybrid. It combines a 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 150 CV with an electric motor of 115 CV, to offer a system output of 245 CV, with a maximum torque of 400 Nm.

The gearbox is a dual-clutch DSG with six speeds, and the lithium-ion battery offers 13 kWh of capacity. The range figure homologated under the WLTP cycle announced is around 50 km, so the CUPRA Formentor will enjoy the advantages of the CERO label.
A sporty SUV with premium airs
CUPRA wants to compete with the big names, and to do so its bet is on a distinctive design, high-quality materials and details characteristic of premium brands and cars in the upper segment.

The CUPRA Formentor has it all. On the outside it stands out for its own, exclusive design, which is not based on any SEAT model, as is the case with the new CUPRA León. And besides its very dynamic and pleasant lines, it stands out for elements such as the 19-inch alloy wheels, the Brembo brakes and the colour combinations chosen for the bodywork. Customers will be able to choose between two matt tones which will surely attract a large number of sales.

Inside, the design clearly recalls the CUPRA León, although here too there are details of its own. Digital instrumentation is standard, as is the screen of the multimedia system in its largest version, with 12 inches.
The sport seats are bucket-type, and there are distinctive details such as the projection of the brand logo onto the floor when the doors are opened, or the multifunction steering wheel, now with two integrated satellite controls for starting the engine and for choosing between the different programmes of the drive mode selector.
