Designs for the 4-door coupé of Skoda

The trend of large four-door coupés, such as the Audi A5 Sportback or the Passat CC within the VW Group (though with other examples outside the brand), seems set to reach other more mainstream brands. Skoda has started doing its homework, and some designs are coming to light.
I have always thought of it as a more than decent brand since it was acquired by Volkswagen, with attractive designs and an appearance suggesting it belongs to a higher group than its price would indicate. This design, although still only sketches, looks promising enough to keep developing along that line.
Czech designer Pavel Hrubyi has designed this type of vehicle (sometimes called a Sportback, fastback or any other label) based on the top-of-the-range Skoda Superb. The result is a more aggressive and sporty saloon than the one we currently have on the market, giving it good dynamism.
The preliminary designs look quite good and do not seem to come from a science fiction film, as sometimes happens with earlier concepts. We will see whether Skoda continues to work on this attractive concept. We attach a video showing several stages of the concept’s creation.
