Ford creates a dog kennel with noise cancellation
Although especially famous for excelling in vehicle construction, the American manufacturer Ford has opted to offer a product that is, to say the least, eye-catching.
As surreal as it may sound, Ford, one of the oldest and most prestigious car manufacturers in the world, has decided, possibly to add something festive to the season, to launch onto the market a beautiful, high-tech dog kennel with noise cancellation.
The approach Ford has taken to the design of this indulgence is particularly curious. Rather than orienting the design towards its own field, that is, cars and the world of motoring, the kennel is more reminiscent of a piece of cutting-edge technology, a computer from the future, also recalling a futuristic house on a reduced scale.
Regarding noise cancellation, it is worth bearing in mind that dogs have up to 4 times the auditory sensitivity of humans, which means they are far more sensitive to noise and that even the faintest sound can disturb their sleep.
Thanks to this noise cancellation system, for once the animal’s quality of sleep is taken into account, rather than focusing solely on creating a truly attractive design.

To achieve this, a microphone in the cabin identifies loud noises, then reproduces the opposite sound wave through the speakers to counteract the loud sound. Think of it as a rebound effect, where a tennis ball hits a wall without going through it, to give a simple example.
In statements from the company itself:
“We wondered how the technologies we use in our vehicles could help people in other situations. Making sure dogs and their owners can enjoy New Year without stress seems the perfect application for our active noise control system, and we have some other ideas in progress on how our everyday lives could benefit a little from the knowledge of Ford.”
For now this kennel is a prototype, and it will certainly not be cheap; however, we have no doubt that, thanks mainly to the quality of its design, many followers will end up acquiring this curious initiative from Ford.
