General Motors wants half of its models to run on ethanol by 2012

Some car manufacturers have set their sights on electric and hybrid vehicles to end oil dependence. Meanwhile, others are focusing on biofuels. General Motors is experimenting with a couple of technologies, developing hybrids on the one hand, and models that run on biofuels on the other.
They are so confident in ethanol as the basis for fuel that they expect half of their fleet in the US to use that biofuel by 2012.
A report published by Associated Press states that General Motors North America president Troy Clarke confirmed there will be 11 models on the market by the end of the year, rising to 15 by the end of 2009. All of them run on ethanol-based biofuels.
