Geneva Show 2009: Tata Nano for Europe

Tata has unveiled another major new feature at the Geneva Motor Show 2009: the famous $1,700 car, the Nano, will also come to Europe. However, the European Tata Nano has undergone some changes in order to be more successful in the market and to comply with EU safety regulations.
The first thing that catches the eye is the exterior design refinements, which now give the impression of a more stable car with better build quality, unlike the interior, which remains practically the same as the Indian model.

There are also changes in the equipment, as the European version of the Nano comes with dual airbags and ABS (required by the EU), plus electronic stability control. The engine will be a three-cylinder 1.0 MPFi unit made entirely of aluminium, combined with a 5-speed automated manual gearbox and electric power steering. That said, the price expected for Europe will be around €5,000.
