Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014: equipment details for Spain

The renewal of the Jeep Grand Cherokee presented at the recent Geneva Motor Show will arrive in Spain in July. Pending final prices, the American brand has broken down the items included in each equipment level, as well as a preview of the available accessories.

The most basic level, called Laredo, will come as standard with heated electric mirrors, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, a three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters, a rain-sensing windscreen, a multimedia centre with USB, SD and AUX ports, the Uconnect system with Bluetooth, voice control and Smartouch 8.4, and comprehensive safety equipment with all types of airbags and control systems, including hill start assist and hill descent control.

The next level will be the Limited, which adds to the above automatic dimming mirrors, power tailgate, leather upholstery, power seats and heated steering wheel with memory, parking sensors and a rear-view camera, a 9-speaker sound system with subwoofer and a 506-watt amplifier, and a navigation system integrated into the Uconnect (optional on the Laredo).

The range also includes the most luxurious Overland trim. As well as being distinguished by a greater number of exterior chrome components, it will offer as standard a double-panel panoramic sunroof with power sunshade (optional on the Limited), bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, tinted windows, 20-inch wheels painted in mineral grey, nappa leather upholstery and interior finishes, ventilated front seats, a wood-trimmed steering wheel, the Quadra-Drive II system and Quadra-Lift air suspension.

It also offers the Sport (sport brakes and suspension) and Security (adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and advanced collision braking assist) packages. Optionally, the Laredo, Limited and Overland can be completed with the Off-Road package to enhance the Grand Cherokee’s off-road capabilities with the Quadra-Drive II system, Selec-Speed control and underbody protection. Limited, Overland and SRT can also optionally fit two rear DVD players.

Finally, the MOPAR accessories catalogue for the Grand Cherokee arrives in Spain. Examples of the extras it includes are a protective boot liner, sport aluminium pedals, or aluminium sill plates with the illuminated Jeep logo.
