Ken Block returns to put on a show at his GRID Gymkhana in Poland
If you are a fan of businessman, racing driver and showman Ken Block, his GRID Gymkhana in Poland is going to get your pulse racing
The thing is, Ken Block has managed to turn himself into a real character, rising to become a media figure who has made his passion for rallying, speed, racing and spectacle a way of life.
Although his regular participation in the World Rally Championship had nothing to do with his acclaimed seasons in the American championship, the American driver decided that, to let off steam and stay in the spotlight, there was no better way than to put on his own show.
And so, in addition to the famous Ken Block Gymkhanas, he has staged his own show alongside other drivers with attitudes similar to his. Not least the WRC world champion with Subaru, Peter ‘Hollywood’ Solberg, who, accompanied by his son Oliver, joined in at the Polish event.
For the occasion, Ken Block brought along his Ford Escort Cossie V2, the new machine that he had already put to the test by pitting it in a duel against a genuine rally car, the Ford Fiesta R5, which the showman and driver commissioned after a terrible fire rendered the first of the evolutions irreparably unusable for his shows.
For those who don’t remember the incident, we include the link to the video of the fire in Ken Block’s car. We should also warn that, given the harshness of the images, it is not suitable for sentimental fans of an icon of sports and competition cars of the 90s such as the Ford Escort RS Cosworth.
Be that as it may, without further ado, you can enjoy the video of the event held in Poland and an introduction to it by Ken Block himself and the charismatic presenter of Drift! Jarod DeAnda.
