Kia takes the plunge into selling cars over the Internet

What is one of the ingredients of success when we talk about the car world? It could be innovation. The small Kia throws itself headlong into an adventure from which not even GM itself has emerged unscathed. Selling cars over the Internet.

According to unofficial data from GM, its venture into selling through eBay was not entirely happy, as it is estimated the brand sold between 20 and 50 cars… But now Kia confirms its entry into the online sales world, putting 300 dealerships online, almost half of its US sales points.

However, Kia has made this move in a more strategic way than GM did at the time. The Korean brand does not expect to be very successful selling online, but rather it would take advantage of the massive level of exposure that the Internet would bring the brand in the form of links and by making itself known to those who know little about Kia and its models, or who don’t know them at all.

We could say that at this point in the 21st century, buying and selling things over the Internet is quite normal. It’s as normal as anything, except when it comes to cars. I think 99% of us who like cars prefer to see the vehicle we’re going to buy, even if it’s new, to negotiate prices or financing conditions, all live and in person.
