McLaren and OnePlus join forces on a technology partnership
McLaren and OnePlus have decided to team up and collaborate on their new technology agreement. The new product born from this union between companies in the automotive and technology worlds will be unveiled on December 11.
McLaren and OnePlus have reached an agreement to carry out a mysterious project that will be revealed on December 11 at McLaren’s Technology Centre in Woking.
While no official details have been disclosed about what both brands are preparing, the two have formed an “alliance” that is intended to last over time. According to Tech Spot, this collaboration will most likely initially involve a limited version of the successful OnePlus 6T smartphone.

This will be the first time OnePlus has partnered with a carmaker to work hand in hand on its products. However, the Chinese tech giant Oppo also seems to have adopted a similar strategy, having announced a limited edition of its new smartphone with Lamborghini.
In the words of CEO of McLaren, Zak Brown:
“The OnePlus brand is synonymous with speed and power, two values with which McLaren identifies perfectly and which we always strive to offer our customers. Offering together the initiative and pioneering spirit shared by OnePlus and McLaren is a strong enough fact to collaborate and join our forces in pursuit of innovative ideas and the advancement of technology.”
If the assumptions regarding the product that OnePlus and McLaren are preparing together are correct, the device in question will carry a premium price compared to the original OnePlus 6T, which is expected to start at $549.

The smartphone may use new materials such as carbon fibre to further evoke a sports car. It is also possible that this new model will offer better performance than the original.
This is the promotional video that both companies have decided to share to publicise their alliance:
