Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe: the pinnacle of the star

Mercedes-Benz has just launched what will become the most expensive and exclusive model currently available for purchase.
It is the S65 AMG Coupe, the most powerful and fastest version of the coupe range from the star brand, which will reach dealerships in September of this year with a starting price close to 250,000 euros.
This super high-performance version complements the S Coupe range, which already has three other lower-priced alternatives. The version that previously occupied the highest rung was the S63 AMG Coupe, above the S500 and S600 Coupe. Now, this S65, powered by its V12 Biturbo engine, takes the top position within the brand’s lineup.

Exteriorly, the S65 AMG Coupe follows the lines of the S63 AMG, differing in details such as the alloy wheels, which are 20 inches and feature a specific design. In addition, the chrome trim is more abundant than usual. The brake calipers are painted yellow instead of the traditional red, while the rear diffuser is more prominent.

Of course, the interior is full of luxury, as is usual in the S-Class. In this particular model, as with the S63 AMG, we find sport seats, pedals and steering wheel or exclusive trim for these more performance-oriented versions. All the technological features that make the S-Class one of the most advanced vehicles in the world are retained.

As for the engine, it is a superb V12 with twin turbochargers and a displacement of 6 litres, capable of producing 630 CV and 1,000 Nm. These figures allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds (0.2 seconds less than the S63 AMG Coupe), reaching a top speed limited to 250 km/h in Europe and 300 km/h in the USA. Without this limitation, the top speed of the S65 AMG would be close to 330 km/h.
