The oldest unrestored Mini goes to auction
A Mini from 1959 will be auctioned by Bonhams, the oldest and unrestored Mini in existence.

It is not known whether this Mini from 1959 will get a second life, but at least it will help several people in the classic car world make some money from it. Built in 1959, it is the Mini oldest one still in circulation that has not yet been restored, and it will go under the hammer at the famous British house Bonhams.
According to the records, this battered Mini, completely ruined by the passing of time and rust, is the eighth Mini ever built. The fact that its predecessors in serial number have already been restored does not diminish its value; the auction is expected to start at around 16,000 euros, at current exchange rates.
As you can see, the Mini is quite worn by the years, although it still seems to be material for restoration. Incredibly, the engine has only 48,000 kilometres on the clock, although it will also have to pass through the hands of restorers, since it has not seen the streets since 1986.
