Mini will unveil an electric moped in Paris

We may see the new engines that will soon be fitted to the Mini Cooper, or something from the electric Mini, but what we will definitely see from Mini in Paris is an electric moped called the Mini E Scooter Concept, which may help attract new generations to the brand.

Besides being electric, the moped features some design “touches” normally seen on the Mini Cooper. These are oval wing mirrors and the large central speedometer, which doesn’t mean this style of instrumentation hasn’t been fitted to mopeds for years. So one wonders what the point of this Mini E Scooter is.

Well, the point is that it’s electric, something that is already starting to become widespread not only in cars, but also in motorcycles. In this case, an electric moped would delight those who travel short distances without spending a single cent on petrol. The single electric motor drives the rear wheel, while the small lithium battery sits under the seat.

For now, production of this electric scooter is not guaranteed, and the decision will depend on how the public responds at the Paris show.
