Mitsubishi says goodbye to VW's TDI engines

Until now, the diesel engines used by Mitsubishi in the Lancer and Grandis for the European market were supplied by Volkswagen, it was the legendary TDI unit from the German group. But this has changed with the arrival of the new Mitsubishi ASX, which incorporates a 1.8 DI-D diesel engine developed in-house.
This 1.8-litre common rail 16V engine features a variable geometry turbo and a DPF filter, delivering 150 CV of power, with a generous 300 Nm of torque and an average consumption of 5.5 litres per 100 km. Apparently, a version of this engine will be fitted to the European Lancer and Grandis at the end of this year, a version that would produce around 115 CV of power.
