New 3.0 V6 HDi engine for the Citroën C6

The Citroën C6, the flagship of the French brand, receives a new 3.0 V6 HDi engine that replaces the previous 2.7 V6 HDi. However, the engine will not be exclusive to the PSA Group, since it is the same powerplant that Jaguar has just debuted in the XF and in the sporty “S” variant.
In the case of Citroën, however, the engine will not have the 275 cv that the Jaguar XF-S has, but will produce 240 cv. Even so, power increases from the 204 cv of the old 2.7 V6 unit. Consumption is reduced, as are emissions, which drop from 199 to 179 g CO2 per kilometre.
Torque, compared with the previous 2.7 V6 HDi unit, also increases from 440 to 600 Nm. The new engine will be available for the Peugeot 607 with the same 240 cv of power.
