The President of Nissan Motor, Carlos Ghosn, unveiled today at the 80th Geneva Motor Show the fourth generation of the legendary city car, the Nissan Micra. A series of changes have been made to both the interior and exterior of the vehicle, in addition to expanding the engine range with a three-cylinder petrol engine.

Although it retains the dimensions of a compact car, the new Nissan Micra is slightly longer and lower, providing more space for passengers. On the outside, it stands out for its integrated double-slat grille, which gives it a more elegant look. Inside, the dashboard features a “double bubble” design, with the instrument cluster located in a circular space.

In Europe it will be available with two engines: a 1.2-litre unit producing 80 CV and maximum torque of 108 Nm, along with a 1.2-litre direct-injection engine with standard Stop/Start system producing 98 CV and 142 Nm of torque. The first of these has CO2 emissions of 115 g/km, while the second is more efficient, lowering this figure to 95 g/km, an exceptional value for a petrol engine. Both engines will be paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an automatic gearbox.

Another change to this new generation of the Micra is an improved suspension, designed to handle driving on poor road surfaces. In terms of equipment, it will be available with reversing sensors and a new parking space measurement system, Parking Space Measurement (PSM), with three measurement levels (amateur, normal and expert). It also features an audio and navigation system with touchscreen, glass roof, automatic wipers, and an on-board computer that constantly provides the driver with information on fuel consumption, available range and outside temperature.
