Nissan reaches 6 million units sold of the Micra

Since the first generation of the Micra, which began being sold in 1982, the Japanese brand has managed to pass the milestone of 6 million units sold worldwide this year. Across the four generations that the Micra has had so far, the most successful was the second, with total sales of around 2.54 million units.

The most innovative feature of this second generation, launched in 1992, was the introduction of a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Nissan Micra, also known as March in other countries, has sold close to 170,000 units of the fourth generation, which was presented last year.

Finally, in terms of sales by country, Japan is without doubt the market where each generation has sold the most, with a total of 2.37 million units. For many, the success of this compact is mainly due to its good handling and fairly affordable price.
