ORA R1: the world's cheapest 100% electric vehicle
China is launching the cheapest 100% electric vehicle on the market. It is called the Ora 1 and has been manufactured by Great Wall Motor. For just €7,605 you can get your hands on it.
The Ora 1 is presented as the cheapest 100% electric vehicle on the market. Its compact design and futuristic styling make it a great ally for use in the city.

The price of the Ora 1 is truly striking, since for just €7,605 you can get one. Of course, the quality of the product remains to be seen, since you cannot expect too much for something priced this tightly.
The option with the longest range will be available for €9,941, a price that is still incredible for a 100% electric car. This version can cover no less than 351 km on a single charge, which, as we said before, makes it the perfect city ally.

It comes with charming technological features, one example being how the car is switched on. Simply by saying “Hola Ora”, the vehicle will start up.
It will be available in 5 different colours and, surely, it will be a hit in the Asian market, as this technology is increasingly in demand given the advantages it brings.
The Chinese market is one of the biggest sources of demand when it comes to electric cars, selling up to 400,000 vehicles a year. With this vehicle, sales are estimated to rise to 3,000,000 a year.

Great Wall Motor, the company responsible for manufacturing this vehicle, enjoys a good reputation and seems to be synonymous with quality. Manufacturers such as BMW chose this company to build their MINI electric vehicles in China.
It is not yet known whether the Ora 1 will reach the European market, but everything suggests that it will, making it practically certain to be a resounding success in terms of sales.
Mr Ning, General Manager of Ora, shared some words on the matter:
“We have the vision of becoming a market leader in the electric vehicle segment in China”
Only time will tell whether the idea has been a success, but for now, here is a video of their presentation:
