Polestar integrates new features thanks to Google into the Polestar 2
The strategic alliance is strengthened with new features and technologies in the Polestar vehicles to be presented at CES 2024, such as route sending and simplified navigation thanks to Google’s services

At an event at the heart of automotive technology, Polestar and Google reaffirm their solid strategic alliance, dazzling visitors at CES 2024, an event where the greatest technological advances to date are presented and, this year, revolutionary innovations are unveiled in vehicles equipped with the Android Automotive OS operating system.
The CEO of Polestar, Thomas Ingenlath, highlighted the importance of the collaboration with Google, stating: “Google is a fundamental technology partner for us. Since the launch of the Polestar 2 more than three years ago, the Android Automotive OS ecosystem has evolved with the introduction of new applications and features. Our fruitful relationship continues to generate benefits for Polestar owners, and this year, these innovations will also be expanded to the Polestar 3 and the Polestar 4“.

Simplified route sending with Google Maps
Among the exciting news presented, one feature stands out that will change the way drivers plan their journeys. Users can now plan their routes with Google Maps from their Android or iOS devices and send them directly to the navigation unit of their Polestar 2, a feature that promises to make the driving experience easier by allowing more efficient and convenient planning before getting into the car.

Next-generation navigation with Google Chrome
Polestar, a pioneer in browser integration in vehicles, takes a step forward by introducing a beta version of the Chrome browser for the Polestar 2. This new functionality will allow drivers to browse intuitively while the vehicle is parked. The adoption of Google Chrome in the Polestar 2 adds to the success of the Vivaldi browser launched in 2021, consolidating Polestar’s reputation as a leader in integrated navigation technologies.

Commitment to continuous innovation
Thomas Ingenlath expressed his enthusiasm for future technological implementations: “We are committed to continuous innovation and to providing our customers with increasingly advanced driving experiences. The integration of Google Maps and Chrome in our vehicles is just the beginning. We plan to expand these features to our next generation of cars, including the Polestar 3 and the Polestar 4, offering our drivers cutting-edge technology”.
CES 2024 will witness how the alliance between Polestar and Google continues to redefine the standards of connected driving. With the announcement of these new features, the collaboration promises to keep setting the pace in the automotive industry, offering drivers not only high-quality vehicles but also unmatched driving experiences.
