Renault Arkana: the coupé SUV arriving in Spain in 2021
The Renault Arkana will finally reach European shores by 2021. Its official presentation will take place this autumn at the Paris Motor Show.
A few months ago we brought you the first details about the upcoming Renault Arkana: a coupé SUV that debuted in Russia and was planned for sale there as well as in certain Asian markets such as South Korea and China. What was once a rumour is no longer one. This French model will also be seen across the rest of Europe from next year, 2021.
Specifications yet to come
We will learn the final details later on. Over the summer, Renault may gradually reveal its first specifications, but it will be mainly at the Paris Motor Show where the French brand makes the Arkana’s arrival official.

It is also not certain that the new coupé SUV will arrive in Spain under the Renault badge. The subsidiary Dacia could be the one to take on and back the new Arkana. In Russia, for example, the Logan and Duster are Renault models rather than Dacia as they are in Spain. For this reason, this remains up in the air.

In any case, this new model is already on sale in South Korea under the name Samsung XM3. Built on the CMF/B platform, seen in the Captur, this model offers dimensions slightly over 4.5 metres in length. It sits in a segment very close to that of the Kadjar, so we do not yet know how this will affect sales of the two models.
The Renault Arkana may end up as an entry-level model in a segment dominated by many premium models that are out of reach for most buyers. Renault could lower the price of this model by giving it lower trim levels and more basic equipment, thereby complementing its range without competing directly with the Kadjar. It is precisely for this reason that the possibility of Dacia handling the Arkana also remains on the table.

For the moment, in the Russian market, the Renault Arkana in its Life trim costs, at the current exchange rate, a little over €14,000. A genuinely competitive price. Its range-topping version barely exceeds €20,000: the Edition One.
And although alternative petrol and hybrid powertrains are rumoured to be coming, with no diesel, for now in Russia the car is offered only with the 1.6-litre petrol engine. There are, however, several options available for transmission (MT5 or CVT) and drive (front-wheel or all-wheel).
