Renault Twingo ZE: could reach a range of 250 km
Renault unveils the new version of its city car. Named Twingo ZE, this small French car becomes the first electric alternative in the Twingo family.
With nearly 30 years of history, the Renault Twingo has become one of the most visible faces of the French brand in the urban sphere. This model has kept evolving to meet the needs of the most cosmopolitan customers who, over these three generations, have bought almost 4 million units across 25 different countries. Almost unbelievable. This is why the Twingo ZE arrives at the right time and at a good moment, offering the best of its combustion model in every respect while adding the advantages of the 100% electric version.
Battery capable of exceeding 200 km of range
The new Renault Twingo ZE will feature a 22 kWh battery. The promised range of this small French model varies depending on the WLTP cycle in question. If we take the usual reference, the combined cycle, the homologated range is 180 km. But if we want to measure the range of the Twingo ZE solely in the city, its range rises to 250 km according to the WLTP City cycle. The combined homologation with ECO Mode always activated is 215 kilometres.

As for its engine, the Renault has been fitted with an electric system that generates 82 CV of power with a maximum torque of 160 Nm. Power and torque more than sufficient to move the French city car with ease, which has also revealed its 0-50 km/h acceleration (a very typical figure for urban electric cars). In just 4 seconds it would reach 50 km/h, so city driving will be quite enjoyable.
Distinguishing features
The French electric car has elements that clearly set it apart from its combustion-engined sibling. The details are few but they include important nuances. Inside, it features a detail such as the “ZE” lettering on the automatic gear selector knob. It will also come with a 7-inch touchscreen connected to the Renault EASY CONNECT system. This new connectivity will also be available from your mobile phone via the MY Renault app.

On the outside it has several “Z.E. Electric” lettering. One on the B-pillar and another on the rear tailgate on the right-hand side. The central grille surround, from the Intens trim, will feature blue in its horizontal bars. But the undoubtedly most striking and significant element will be the very large blue strip running side to side along the entire length of the car.
