The king of the Nürburgring: the video of the Pagani Zonda R's record lap at the ring

Yesterday was a day of great joy for Horacio Pagani and his already legendary company, as they took the Zonda R to the Nürburgring to dethrone the lap record held by the Ferrari 599XX. And not only did they do it, but they did so with absolute superiority, as the Zonda R’s lap was a spectacular 6:47.

Although the Zonda is not strictly a production car but a limited-edition model, it beat the Radical SR8LM by a full second, which had set the time last year at 6:48. The man in charge of taking the Zonda and mastering its 750-CV V12 through the Green Hell was German driver Marc Basseng.

Almost certainly, and with a certain triumphant air, Horacio Pagani will timely distribute the on-board video of the lap, which we are eagerly awaiting. In the meantime, a few snapshots of the record appear in the following video, from yesterday at the ring.
