Skoda Vision X: this is how the Czech-made Seat Arona will look
The Skoda Vision X will be built on the MQB A0 platform (the same as the Seat Arona) and will offer a hybrid version.
The Geneva Motor Show is just around the corner and brands are starting to reveal some of their new products. Skoda, for example, has announced it will present a new SUV at the Swiss event, a crossover that will join the already well-known Skoda Karoq and Skoda Kodiaq. The Skoda Vision X will take up a place in the urban SUV segment, a category where it will compete with models such as the Renault Captur, the Kia Stonic, the Hyundai Kona and the Seat Arona. In any case, the Vision X will be presented in Geneva as a concept version, so we will have to wait to learn the definitive version of this promising segment B SUV.

The Skoda Vision X will be presented with a hybrid powertrain, an attractive FlexGreen body and 20-inch wheels. In addition, the roof will feature a majestic anthracite colour that contrasts with the eye-catching green of the bodywork. Judging by the images, the design of the bumpers, the side sills and the other exterior elements has many points in common with the Seat Arona; in fact, it seems to have been based on the aesthetics of the Spanish SUV. The shared design between models from different brands within the VAG group is something that has already happened with the Seat Ateca and Skoda Kodiaq, so we would not be surprised if the German manufacturer repeats the formula with this new urban SUV.

Considering that the car will very likely be built on the well-known MQB A0 platform (the one shared by the Seat Arona and Ibiza), we understand that the engine range will consist of a 1.0 TSI unit with 95 and 115 CV, another 1.6 TDI with 95 CV and 115 CV, and the aforementioned hybrid version.
The interior of the ŠKODA VISION X defines a fundamentally new design language. The ergonomically shaped dashboard with a standalone colour display dominates the interior’s visual appearance. The infotainment and connectivity services can be accessed quickly and intuitively via the screen. The illuminated elements made of cut glass, together with the colour display, create lighting effects.

It is worth remembering that by 2025, ŠKODA plans to launch several hybrid vehicles, in addition to fully electric cars. By then, one in four vehicles delivered by the brand worldwide will have a plug-in hybrid or purely electric powertrain. It seems that the Skoda Vision X will be the first of a powerful wave of electrified vehicles.
