Spy photos: 2013 Mercedes SL63 AMG

As you well know, it’s no secret that Mercedes is working on a new generation that should reach the market in a couple of years to reclaim the place it has always deserved and which, unfortunately for the guys at Mercedes, has been more hotly contested than usual in recent years.

Specifically, the model you see on screen, beneath all that bulky camouflage, features a magnificent 5.5-litre V8 which, paired with a novel twin-turbo system, should be capable of producing a whopping 571 hp once it reaches the market.

Perhaps, comparing the 571 hp of this new version with the 525 hp of the SL63 AMG, it doesn’t seem like too big a leap, although there is one area where they differ: maximum torque, since the 465 Nm of the current model will look very modest next to the 659 Nm the next generation will be capable of producing.
