SsangYong Korando prices are announced
We now know the prices of the SsangYong Korando, an SUV that will reach Spanish dealerships at the end of the year.
The recent Geneva Motor Show featured many new releases, among them the all-new SsangYong Korando. Five months after we first saw the new model at the show, the Korean brand’s new SUV is now preparing its arrival on the domestic market. It will reach Spanish dealerships at the end of the year, and the latest news the manufacturer has revealed is that it already has sales prices.
The SsangYong Korando is a completely new model, since compared with the previous generation it debuts a new design language, uses a modular platform and has taken a major technological leap. This last aspect has been very important, since its equipment includes features such as a digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen.
As for its rivals, the SsangYong Korando enters one of the segments where competition is fiercest. The South Korean SUV will have to face models such as the Nissan Qashqai, which we have tested, the Seat Ateca, the Peugeot 3008 and its compatriot, the Hyundai Tucson. For this reason, SsangYong has tried to find a formula to offer a different car at a competitive price.
Two engines and four trim levels
As for its engine range, the mechanical offer is based on two engines, one petrol and one diesel. The petrol engine is a 1.5 GDI with 163 CV capable of 280 Nm of torque, while the diesel will have 1.6 litres and 136 CV, with a final torque of 300 Nm. Both powertrains are paired with a manual gearbox and front-wheel drive as standard.
However, as an option, the buyer can choose a six-speed automatic gearbox. There are also all-wheel-drive versions, although these can only be configured when the automatic gearbox is chosen. The SsangYong Korando range is divided into four equipment levels: Line, Urban, Premium and Limited.
