Tata hands over the keys to the first Nano in India

When we talk about the Tata Nano, information comes pouring in from everywhere, from the announcement that Tata would present a car priced below 2,000 dollars to today, when the keys of the first Tata Nano have been handed over in India. With so much information about the Nano since its unveiling in January 2008, it seems strange that the keys of the first Tata Nano in India are still being handed over even now.
The first to receive his Tata Nano (from a long list of people waiting for theirs) is a driver from Bombay, Ashok Raghunath Vichare, who has received the keys to his new Nano from the top executive of the Indian company.
Over this past year and a half we have followed plenty of news about the Nano and its European variant, which will have better safety standards than the units sold in India and which will reach the European market in 2012.
Moreover, the role the Nano will play in India will be very important, because besides taking millions of motorcycles off the streets, which are an unsafe form of transport for the population, it will also replace the old and more polluting motorcycle engines with new engines that will give a breather to India’s heavily polluted air (especially in the big cities).
