The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is the leader in its segment, that of plug-in hybrid SUVs, as its sales figures clearly show. Four years after its European launch, the flagship of Mitsubishi, the Outlander PHEV, has reached 100,000 units sold in Europe.

Initially, the Japanese SUV was only available in a few European markets (the Netherlands, Scandinavia, …), but its great success allowed the PHEV to make its mark across the whole of the old continent. Despite the growing pressure from its rivals, the Outlander PHEV has maintained its sales pace, establishing itself as the best-selling vehicle in its segment (one of the fastest-growing categories in the entire industry). As a result, the Outlander PHEV remains the leader in 2017 in countries such as the United Kingdom, Norway and Spain.

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is for the fourth year running the best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle in Spain. The PHEV is the world’s first plug-in hybrid SUV with four-wheel drive and holds a 40% market share by powertrain type, meaning that almost 1 in every 2 cars registered in this segment is an Outlander PHEV.

The 54 km of electric-mode range of the Outlander PHEV exceed the 40 km that the DGT requires to be classified as “Zero Emissions”, which grants it exemption from traffic restrictions in central Madrid. It also benefits from advantages such as the following:
