The 2019 Pirelli Calendar and Albert Watson's cinematic vision

The 2019 Pirelli Calendar edition centres on the world of the “dreams” of four women through the telling of “short films”.

The print run of the Pirelli Calendar 2019 reaches its forty-sixth edition. The tyre brand began producing this promotional calendar in 1964, although none was produced between 1975 and 1983. On this occasion, photographer Albert Watson was in charge of carrying out the traditional and prestigious edition for the coming year.

Set against the dreams and aspirations of four women, the photographer aims to tell their stories through four “short films”. The stars of this edition are Gigi Hadid, Julia Garner, Misty Copeland and Laetitia Casta, accompanied by Alexander Wang, Calvin Royal III and Sergei Polunin.
