The British police has a new member: Vauxhall Insignia

At the RETTmobil in Fulda, in addition to the ambulance BMW we saw a few days ago, GM Great Britain’s special vehicles division has presented an Insignia intended for the police. The vehicle’s power could be 220 or 260 CV, with the 2.8-litre engine.

This engine will be paired with all-wheel drive, which will be a great help in extreme situations. And for police departments that don’t need that much power, the 2.0 CDTi version with 160 CV will be available (more than enough, as we were able to verify in the road test of the Opel Insignia 2.0 CDTi SPORT with 160 CV)

The police Insignia carries a considerable amount of technology to carry out its duties, with highlights including: MDT (Mobile Data Terminal) cameras, an automatic number plate recognition system, sirens both on the roof and on the sides, and a complete communications system.
