The Kia Ceed range is updated with a new petrol engine and the UVO Connect system
The Kia Ceed replaces the naturally aspirated engine with a turbo unit and now offers the UVO Connect infotainment system
The popular compact, which already has 3 generations in its history, receives an update to its range of petrol-powered options.
Thus, the Kia Ceed range replaces the 100 CV 1.4 CVVT engine with a new 1.0 Turbo T-GDi unit with the same mechanical potential.
And indeed, after selling 12,000 units of the Kia Ceed, this update to the petrol engine range keeps the Korean brand’s commitment to this fuel, but in any case relying on turbocharging.
In this way, the petrol engines for the Kia Ceed petrol would be the aforementioned 1.0 T-GDi, with a power range of 100 or 120 CV, the 1.4 also T-GDi but with 140 CV and, for the more powerful versions, those bearing the GT designation, the 1.6 T-GDi with 204 CV.
Regarding the diesel engines, the Kia Ceed diesel keeps its two options, both based on the 1.6 CRDi unit with 115 or 136 CV of power.
The Kia Ceed now features the UVO Connect system
We already had the chance to test the benefits of the new infotainment system, called UVO Connect, during the road test of the two variants of the Kia XCeed, the crossover that belongs to the Kia Ceed family but has a more adventurous yet urban character and uses this equipment with internet connectivity, serving as the link between the car’s user and a world of online services.
The UVO Connect system will now also be available, depending on the packs and equipment, for the five-door Kia Ceed.
In this way, thanks to the ease of use provided by management through the car’s touchscreen or the use of the user’s smartphone, as long as it is a device with Android or iOS operating system, they will be able to access the various possibilities offered by the Kia Live services.
Among other features, it includes receiving updated traffic information, the weather forecast, a list of points of interest for the user, plus conveniences such as places to park, whether on the street or in car parks, with information on interesting aspects such as price, location and even availability.
In addition, with the UVO Connect system it is possible to check the car’s status, as it provides diagnostic information about the vehicle.
Furthermore, it is possible to consult information about past trips and journeys or send a destination to the car before starting the journey, or know the vehicle’s location at all times thanks to its real-time tracking.
