Mercedes-Benz Vans has announced a new era for its mid-size commercial range with the launch of the redesigned V-Class. This model, together with the new EQV and V-Class Marco Polo, features a commercial strategy accompanied by a facelift with a redesigned exterior and interior, advanced comfort features and last-generation driver assistance systems. This strategic move by the German brand follows the earlier unveiling of the new V-Class last summer, and now marks the start of its sales and production at the Vitoria (Álava) plant from March of this year.

The new models feature the introduction of the innovative VAN.EA vehicle architecture, specifically designed for battery-electric drives, with which the brand seeks to lead a fully electric future from 2026. This approach is also a crucial step towards CO2 neutrality in its new vehicle fleet by 2039, a significant milestone in the sustainable commercial strategy of Mercedes-Benz AG.

A facelift and increased technology

The main novelties of the renewed mid-size range focus on a new exterior and interior design. The EQV, V-Class and V-Class Marco Polo feature an attractive front end with a more imposing grille and a more detailed bumper. MULTIBEAM adaptive LED headlights, new-design LED rear lights and customisation options such as new paint colours and wheel designs complete the refreshed look. Inside, a modern dashboard with two 31.24 cm screens, elegant air vents and a centre console that now includes a wireless smartphone charger stand out.

Improvements in comfort and functionality also stand out with new features such as KEYLESS start function, optional steering wheel heating and ambient lighting with 64 colours. For the first time, the EQV, V-Class and V-Class Marco Polo offer dimmed rear lighting for night-time use and a sliding door on the left-hand side for easier access to the rear.

The MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) multimedia system offers additional functions such as the ENERGIZING comfort control. In addition, a range of smart digital extras is included, designed to make everyday life easier and more efficient, from free maintenance services to the ability to remotely control functions such as locking and unlocking the doors.

New engines with two battery options

The renewed range of powertrains for the EQV, V-Class and V-Class Marco Polo from Mercedes-Benz offers customers a variety of options to suit their needs and preferences. Electric mobility enthusiasts can opt for the EQV version, which features two battery sizes (90 and 60 kWh) and a maximum power of 150 kW (204 CV). With a electric range of up to 326–363 kilometres, thanks to efficient regenerative braking and optimised thermal management, the EQV stands out for its efficiency and real-world range.

These models also feature alternating current (AC) of up to 11 kW at domestic or public charging stations, as well as direct current (DC) of up to 110 kW at fast-charging stations. For those who prefer more traditional options, the V-Class and V-Class Marco Polo offer the well-known and efficient OM654 diesel engine in three power levels (120 kW, 140 kW and 174 kW), while the novelty for the V-Class in 2024 will be the M254 petrol engine, featuring 48V mild hybrid technology and marking a first in Europe. This broad range of engines reflects Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to diversity and innovation in its vehicle offering.
