The new Citroën C3 will arrive in June with 97 exterior colour combinations available
Citroën presents the in-depth update of the third generation of the C3. A restyling that covers every aspect and brings countless new features. It is due to arrive next June.
Since its unveiling at the 2016 Paris Motor Show and subsequent launch, the Citroën C3 has been a success in numerous countries, with 750,000 units sold. Now, three and a half years later, it reinvents itself to keep winning hearts. Such was its impact at the very start of the 21st century that 19 years and three generations later, the C3 has reached around 4.5 million units sold. This places it in the Top 5 of the B-segment across the old continent.
The new Citroën C3 features a redesigned front end and up to 97 exterior colour combinations
The redesign of the front end has succeeded in accentuating a sense of height in its bonnet. The typical chevrons of Citroën’s new models extend up to the daytime running lights. The grille also features inserts that frame the fog lights and give it a more eye-catching touch. Its rear retains the lines seen on the pre-restyling model, and its 3D-effect rear lights continue to stand out.
However, what has caught our attention most about this new C3 is its side profile. Depending on the version, it can come with the famous side Airbumps. They have been redesigned to be offered in three raised bodies on the lower part of the doors. The colour will depend on the chosen Pack. As we said, its side view makes an impression. This is due, in part, to its wheels, which can reach 640 mm and rise as the largest in the segment.
The new C3 further increases customisation possibilities to a total of 97. Under the slogan “Inspired by You”, Citroën has increased the customisation look from 36 to 97 possibilities. 7 body colours available, two of them new: Elixir Red and Spring Blue. 4 Colour Packs with Anodised Emerald as a new addition. 4 roof colours with the new Emerald Blue. And three roof graphics with the introduction of new graphic themes. In addition, it features new 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels with various customisation options as well.
The 2020 Citroën C3 is also comfortable, dynamic and technological
Its modest dimensions, 3.99 metres long, place it within the B-segment. But don’t let its 4 metres of apparent length fool you. The C3’s cabin offers generous width and spaciousness, and it also features the Advanced Comfort package unique to Citroën.
As well as being comfortable, it is dynamic. Among many other things, thanks to its suspension comfort. Thanks to a fairly good filtering, the acoustic treatment while driving is outstanding and external noise barely reaches the cabin. Mainly at high speeds.
And it is also safe. It brings together up to 12 driving assistance technologies for safer driving. The new Citroën C3 comes with the following aids: front parking sensors; keyless entry and start; emergency braking system; driver fatigue alert; Smartbeam intelligent headlights; rear camera with sensors; hill start assist; unintended lane departure warning; blind spot detection; speed sign recognition; speed limiter.
And, of course, as well as being technological, it is also connected. Citroën offers in its new C3 a range of services grouped under the Citroën Advanced Comfort programme, such as the navigation and infotainment system or Connect Assist (safety and assistance). Most of these systems are operated from the 7-inch touchscreen. And we say most because the navigation system or phone can also be operated by voice recognition.
New C3 engine range
The third-generation update of the Citroen C3 offers state-of-the-art engines approved under the Euro 6 emissions standard. The French brand will offer 3-cylinder petrol versions of 83 and 110 CV. The diesel unit will be the 100 CV BlueHDi, which can be paired with an EAT6 automatic gearbox, as can the most performance-oriented petrol version.
